Mr. Fu Ho Yen, Howard
In 1976, Mr Howard Fu, the associate professor from the Industrial Engineering Department of Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan founded the Future Career Consultant Management Co., Ltd. with the vision that「Our future depends on the future of our nation, society and businesses」. He hoped that through the use of consultancy services, lectures and publishing, he would be able to upgrade the management know-how for Taiwan SMEs. In the next 15 years, Future Career Consultant Management became a household name and played a pivotal role in mentoring nearly 2,000 well-known enterprises as well as participating in numerous seminars attended by almost 20,000 students and had also published nearly 100 management practical books.
In 1990, Mr Howard Fu observed that Taiwan’s business college of higher education used a lesser proportion of Mandarin teaching materials as compared with their Asian counterparts. He opined that this posed a worrying trend and it could seriously impact the transfer of business know-how, succession planning and talent cultivation. As such, he started the program “Business Textbooks in Mandarin Series”. In addition to approaching well-known scholars and experts to assist in the drafting of teaching materials, he also selected suitable US and Japanese business books to be translated into Mandarin for publishing within Taiwan. As well as helping to make significant contributions to Taiwan’s management education landscape and talent cultivation, these initiatives also laid a solid foundation for the future development of the Group.
